Welcome to Farm to Folk

Farm to Folk (F2F) connects farmers using sustainable methods of agriculture with greater Ames area consumers seeking fresh, nutritious, locally grown farm products.

Our mission is to build strong, cooperative relationships between and among producers and consumers to provide a fair income for local producers while meeting the food needs of local consumers. We also seek to educate the surrounding community about farm and food issues.

What We Offer

Various vegetable, herb, fruit, dairy, and meat products are available as CSA shares or a la carte (single items). CSA stands for Community Supported or Shared Agriculture. It strives to establish economically viable, ecologically sound, and socially just relationships in the process of food production.  In CSA, members share risks with the producers by paying for a share prior to the start of the growing season. In return, members receive a box of fresh, usually organic produce throughout the season. Indirectly, however, members also increase their awareness and education about the food system; improve their health by consuming fresh, healthy, nutritious produce; and develop stronger ties to their communities. CSA shares consist of predetermined types and amounts of in-season items that are delivered to a site in Ames on a weekly basis.

If you are an adventurous eater who likes to be creative, CSA shares are for you.

If you like more control over what you buy, a la carte is for you. The a la carte offerings will be posted on our website each week and an email sent to members to remind them when it is time to order.
